Pedestrian friendly access to seven future on-site schools in the highly-acclaimed Crandall Independent School District also was a primary consideration in planning the elaborate trails system. Strategically-placed school sites are at the center of residential and trail spaces, rather than at the edges of the community, to allow children easy access to schools. This innovative land plan allows children to walk to schools rather than being driven, a positive impact for safety, convenience and the environment.

At Heartland, we're teaching a valuable lesson about the importance of education in your child's future. Our greatest commitment to education is the Heartland Education Foundation. This foundation was established to support neighborhood schools, thereby enhancing the educational opportunities for Heartland students. The Heartland Education Foundation can provide financial support for items such as innovative programming, technology, equipment and arts programs. A board of directors determines how the foundation will operate, and it is funded by a 1/2 of 1% tax on every real estate transaction in Heartland.
