Water Supply
The MUDs serving Heartland have entered into a contract to purchase water from the City of Mesquite. A 24-in diameter transmission water main has been constructed from Lawson Road, along the north side of I-20 to the Heartland Pump Station located on High Country Lane just north of I-20. The pump station and a half-million gallon ground storage tank will regulate delivery pressures within the Heartland community. The pump station has been designed to allow for expansion as Heartland grows.
Who runs Heartland's water supply? A MUD operates much like a city. The Kaufman County Municipal Utility Districts 8-12 operate and maintain the Heartland water and wastewater systems.
