Fire and Police Protection
Police Protection
The Municipal Utility Districts have entered into a contract with a private security firm to provide a special, higher level of patrol services than normally are provided to non-city areas. The MUD is paying the cost of deputies to devote at least 112 hours per week to the patrol of Heartland, as well as providing the officer with a patrol vehicle and all related law enforcement equipment. These special protective services will be further expanded as the community grows.
Fire Protection
Fire protection is provided by the Crandall Fire Department, which has very up-to-date firefighting equipment, through the Kaufman County Emergency Service District #7. Heartland also lies less than two miles from a fire station of the Forney Fire Department, which would also be dispatched on most structural fires.
